Duckworks Second Annual Messabout
at Magnolia Beach, Matagorda Bay, TexasMay 22 - 23, 2004
It was a breezy day. The wind was blowing diagonally off the beach, making it easy to get off the beach.
Charlie Jones' CLC-John’s Sharpie is the 2 masted boat.
It is a exquisetly crafted example of the boatbuilders art,
and very fast too.

It was originally built many years ago and is enjoying a new coat of paint.
The man trying it out is not the owner/builder.

He managed to actually row the boat, also paddle it, taking it almost
100 yards off the beach and back without swamping it!

It is home designed, with a Dolphin Sr. sail that was a gift from a neighbor.
This gift saved having to design and sew a sailing rig.
Chat at end of day and after potluck supper. Some of those who lingered.
This year there two or three times
as many attendees as last year.
