This is a fairly straightforward history of a Bayou Teche, a waterway which parellels the lower Mississippi River and on the west side of the Atahafalaya river and swamp. Headwaters rise at Port Barre, Louisanna, off Bayou Courtableau and the Teche wander sineously to Patterson, Louisanna where it joins the Atchafalaya River just abover Berwick, Louisanna (which is across the river from Morgan City, Louisanna.
There is a very brief section on pre-history and geology and that covered Shane Bernard, a Louisana native, who lives on the Teche, launches into a description of the Native American tribes which lived, and some still live along the Teche.
This is a good read - Recomended.
