This is one of the Commissario Guido Brunetti series.
Commissario Buretti works out of Venice, however almost all of the action in this crime novel occurs in Pellestrina, which is a long thin island which separates the Lagoon of Venice from the open Adratic Sea.
There is a double murder and sinking of a fishing vessel which operates from Pellestrina.
Commissario Guido Brunetti investigates. The people who live on Pellestrina are a close-mouthed society. Efforts to find the truth and the killers is difficult to discover. The book ends with a flurry of activity, in a fierce storm and more deaths.
This is an OK read, and you will discover some things about Venice and the fact that the language spoken, while basic Italian, are very different in various dialects. -
