This delightful Young Adults reading level book is about a girl and her brother who run away from home in Connecticut and go to New York City. They live hiding in the Meteropolitan Museum of Art. They try to discover whether or not Michelangelo carved a statue of an angel. Eventually after a week, hiding out, eating at the automat, sleeping in a bed which is an exhibit, bathing in a fountain etc. they decide to ask the person who sold the statue to the museum - Mrs Frankweiler - what she knows about who made it. Eventually they talk with her, and finally go home to their family.
It is a delightful book. A good relaxing read after reading things much heavier. This book is a Newbury Award Winner.
