~ New Orleans, Louisanna - city ~

After the Natchez docked back near Jackson Square it was time for lunch.
We walked north one block west of Jackson Square, then headed toward it on Chartres Street.
On the corner of Chartres and St. Peter Sreet we found the Cafe Pontalba and had a traditional New Orleans lunch.

Chartres is the street which runs on the NW side of Jackson Square. The Cathedral and the Cabildo front on it.
In the French Quarter some street signs are historical markers.
New Orleans, just like other cities, has a grafitti problem even on such beautiful walls.

Walking NE on Chartres St. just west of Jackson Square.

The Cabildo on the North corner of Chartres St. and St. Peter St.
This can also be described as across the street from the NW corner of Jackson Square.

The Four Points Sheraton. Occupies a building in keeping with the setting. On Bourbon St. just west of Toulouse St.

Cafe du Monde

On the walk back from the French Market area we stopped and had coffee and beignets at
the Cafe du Monde on the corner of St.Ann Street and Decatur Street.
