Albert

Photo of the 8 ft. pram dingy Albert. I built this dingy in the early 1970's. It has the hull of a Winnard Sabot, but instead of cutting the daggerboard slot I left it out, and made a leeboard that slides on the side, much like those Phil Bolger uses in some of his smaller designs. The sail plan (sprit rig) is loosly copied from an Optimist pram. Its a fun boat. Other sail plans have been tried, including a simple marconi (on an unstayed mast) and a settee (Arab dhow type lateen), set on a bamboo yard hoisted on the regular 8 foot mast used for the more standard sprit rig.
