Camp Perry was established as a Boy Scout Camp in 1927.
It has been continuously operated as a Boy Scout Camp longer than any other such camp in Texas.
It encompasses 260 acres along the west bank of the Arroyo Colorado.
It is located East of Harlingen, Texas and 2 miles north of Rio Hondo, Texas, on FM 1420.

The easiest way to get to Camp Perry.... From US Hwy 77 north of Harlingen (at Combes) take the FM 508 exit and turn East (toward Rio Hondo). Travel a few miles until the road ends at a - T - then turn North (left) on FM 1420 and proceed for 2 miles. The Camp Perry gate will be on your right (East.)

Approach on US Hwy 83 -- go North on US Hwy 77 to the FM 508 exit
go right on FM 508 towards Rio Hondo, but just before Rio Hondo turn left on FM 1420
go 2 miles... Camp Perry will be on the right.
The other Rio Grande Council camp Laguna Station is at the southern tip of South Padre Island and is mostly used as a high adventure camp.
Both Camp Perry and Laguna Station are in Cameron County, Texas.
