The Shire of La Marche Sauvage was established on November 24, 1991 after a meeting of interested parties at the home of J. Simmons in McAllen, Texas. Among those who attended were J. Simmons, who went on to become HL Caitlin nic Andrew. Others among the founders who attended this meeting were Baroness P. Pashley Penhaligon, HL Arianwen nic Patrick, Lord Emrys Godwin, HL Gwynafwy Sinclaire, Lady Bianca da Mosto, Lord Giovanni da Mosto, Lady Briar Rose, Lady Delphina Ceridwen Baptiste, Lord Raibeart Guy de Sheldonne and Lord Lothair Lenoir de Plouvier.
The, then incipient, Shire's first event Black Stag, and was held in Fireman's Park in McAllen, Texas in January 1992. Kingdom level representatives Master Aidan and Mistress Emily, from Loch Soilier (S.E. Houston) attended this event.

Due to illness in the families of some of the major officers, and others moving out of the area the shire diminished in size and vigor. They decided to disband, and did so in October 2006.
